SALT LAKE CITY--The Westminster women's volleyball defeated Western Colorado in three straight sets (25-13, 25-21, 25-17) to earn its first conference win.

The Griffins got off to a strong start dominating the first set with 13 kills and a hitting clip of .222.
The second set was more challenging with 10 ties and four lead changes. Westminster regained the lead. 22-19, with a late 8-2 run.

Sydnee Simmons each recorded four kills as the Griffins finished the set, 25-21.
Trailing 8-9 in the third set, the Griffins scored six straight points to take control. The Griffins scored the final five points to close the set, 25-17, and win the match.
Green led the team with 14 kills and finished hitting .387. Simmons had 10 kills and finished with a .625 hitting percentage
Katie Jacox recorded 10 digs and a season high 24 assists. Green led the Griffins with 17 digs and
Amber Lamborn recorded 12 digs.
The Griffins host Colorado State University-Pueblo Friday, Nov. 1, and New Mexico Highlands Saturday, Nov. 2.
