SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster women's volleyball (4-18, 1-13 RMAC) lost in five sets to Colorado State University - Pueblo on Friday night at Behnken Field House.
The Griffins were led by
Audrey Green's 14 kills.
Lydia Miller added nine kills, and
Sydnee Simmons and
Ketrah Dekanich added eight apiece.
Westminster lost the first set, but won the second set behind four kills from Green and three from Simmons. Amber Hammond recorded three straight aces to give the Griffins momentum that carried over in the third set, Green led the Griffins with four kills as Westminster dominated the set from start to finish.
CSU-Pueblo faced a 15-10 deficit in the fourth set with the match on the line, and went on a 6-1 run to tie the set. Brook Schilling came alive with eight kills to help the ThunderWolves force the fifth set.
The two teams were tied at 12 in the fifth set before CSU-Pueblo scored three straight to take the set and the match. Schilling added five more kills in the deciding set, and finished with 18 to lead all players. Jazzy Espinoza added 16 kills.
The Griffins face New Mexico on Saturday, November 2 at 4 p.m. at Behnken Field House. The match will be streamed live on the
