PUEBLO, Colo.--The 25th ranked Griffins (9-4,-2, 7-2-2 RMAC) were upset on the road, 1-0, at Colorado State University Pueblo (6-9, 6-5 RMAC).
"The game had a lot of momentum changes and we struggled to create clear cut chances," Head Coach
Josh Pittman said. "It was frustrating because we went away from doing the things that made us successful."
"Give CSU-Pueblo credit. They played a very good game and created chances to score and got one late."
The Griffins were out shot 12-6 and 7-3 shots on goal. Gaolkeeper
Will Desantis made six saves with three in each halves.
Thunderwolves forward Carlos Espinoza scored the decisive goal in the 88th minute, giving little time for the Griffins to comeback.
Â
Bridger Hansen led the team with two shots. Hansen,
Gavin Flitton and
Max Bingman each had one shot on goal.
Westminster travels to Alamosa, Colo., to take on Adams State University on Sunday at 1 pm.
