DENVER, Colo.—Westminster women's volleyball (3-16, 0-11 RMAC) falls in three sets to MSU Denver (14-4, 9-1 RMAC).
The Griffins played a five-set match against Chadron State College Friday night then logged 299 miles for today's match against the Roadrunners.
The Griffins led for the opening 14 points of the first set but lost the lead when the Roadrunners made a 13-2 run for a nine-point lead, 18-9. The Griffins looked to be gaining some momentum scoring the next four points until a MSU Denver challenge reversed a tip call that would have awarded the fifth point to Westminster. The Roadrunners regained control and finished the set 25-13.
The Griffins kept it close through half of the second and third sets but the home team was able to extend its lead with late runs winning the second (25-15) and third sets (25-17)
Audrey Green led the team with 10 kills and finished with a .304 hitting percentage. Sydney Simmons had five kills and a team high .417 efficiency.
Green led the team with eight digs and
Aggie Roese-Olsen was close behind with six digs.
The Griffins are home next weekend against Colorado Mesa on Friday and Western Colorado on Saturday. Game information is available at www.westminstergriffins.com.
