RMAC Home Opener
The women's basketball team will play its first home game this Friday against CSU-Pueblo and Saturday against New Mexico Highlands. The team has played eight games on the road since the season started in November. Both games are scheduled to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in the Behnken Fieldhouse.

Tickets are available to purchase in advance online or at the door prior to the game. The games will be broadcast on the RMAC Network and live stats will be available online.Â
Week in Review
The Griffins (2-4, 1-1 RMAC) split results on the road last weekend, losing to the Mavericks at Colorado Mesa and beating the Cowgirls at Western State University.

The undefeated Mavericks (8-0, 2-0 RMAC) controlled the game from the start and earned their eighth win, 83-52, over the Griffins. Westminster shot 33.3 percent from the field and from beyond the arc.Â
Sicilee Williams was the only Griffin to score in double digits with 12 points.

Westminster beat Western State (3-5, 0-2 RMAC), 70-50, winning its first conference game for the season. The Griffins took the lead three minutes into the game and held that lead for the rest of the game. The Griffins built a nine-point first half lead, shooting 54.4 percent from the field and hitting 4-of-8 three pointers.

Westminster continued to shoot in the well in the second half and finished the game shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from beyond the arc.Â
Denise Gonzalez scored 15 points to lead the Griffins in scoring.  Â
Sydnee Taylor and Williams each had 12 points and
Kaylee Carlsen scored 11 points.

Hunter Krebs led the team in rebounds with seven.Â
Max Shelley pulled down six boards and Gonzalez and Taylor each had five rebounds.

Westminster is 5-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play after last weekend.

Westminster is shooting 40.9 percent from the field, 34.0 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 74.7 percent from the charity stripe. The team averages 60.2 points per game and have given up 66.3 points per game.

Gonzalez leads the team in scoring with 64 points. She also leads the team with 16 steals and 23 assists. She is second on the team in rebounds, collecting 27.

Krebs has 33 rebounds to lead the team and she is second on the score sheet with 62 points, shooting 63.6 percent from the three-point arc.Â

Carlsen and Williams each have 45 points,
Max Shelley has 42 and Taylor has 41. Carlsen has nine steals, and Krebs, Taylor and Williams each have eight steals.

Scouting CSU-Pueblo

CSU-Pueblo is 3-0 in RMAC competition and 5-4 overall. They have beaten Fort Lewis, Adams State and New Mexico Highlands.

The Thunderwolves average 63.7 points per game and give up 58.4. They are 38.6 percent from the field, 31.6 percent from threes, and 82.3 percent from the line. They average 37.4 rebounds pregame, 8.4 steals and 3.7 blocks.

Molly Rohrer leads the Thunderwolves in scoring with 143 points, averaging 15.9 points per game. She is 91.4 percent from the line on 58 attempts. Rohrer has 14 blocks and 44 rebounds in nine games.

Tuileisu Anderson is second on the score sheet for Pueblo with 98 points and leads the team with 18 steals.Â

Katie Cunningham is strong on the boards and leads the team with 84 rebounds. She has 41 assists and has scored 59 points.
Scouting New Mexico Highlands

New Mexico Highlands is 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The Cowboys lost to beat Adams State and lost to Fort Lewis.

The Cowboys average 51.7 points per game and give up 69.7. They are 32.3 percent from the field, 28.8 percent from threes, and 68.8 percent from the line. They average 30.8 rebounds pregame, 6.3 steals and 2.0 blocks.
Ari Baca leads the Cowgirls in scoring with 72 points, averaging 12.0 points per game. She leads the team in rebounds, pulling down 16 offensive boards and 12 defensive boards. Baca leads the team with seven blocks.

Savannah Madrid-Andrews is second on the team in scoring with 65 points. She is 92.9 percent from the charity strip on 14 attempts and scored 42 points from 3-pointers.

Brianna Stewart had 58 points and 23 rebounds. Allyah George and DeAvion Allen each have 26 rebounds. George leads the team with 10 steals and Allen is second with seven.

Looking Ahead
The Griffins will host Fort Lewis and Adams State next week. The game against Fort Lewis is scheduled to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, and the game against Adams State is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, Dec. 16.

About the Griffins
Westminster is in its third year as a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division II level. Last year the Griffins finished ninth in the RMAC standings with a 9-13 conference record and an 11-15 overall record.
