Women Return to Road for Two Games
The Westminster women's basketball team is back on the road this weekend as they have a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games on the agenda. The Griffins will play at Chadron State on Friday at 5:30 p.m. MST in Chadron, Neb. They will then face Regis on Saturday at 5 p.m. MST in Denver.
Both of the weekend's games will be broadcast live on the RMAC Network (

About the Griffins
Westminster hits the road at 6-7 overall this season and 4-5 in RMAC action. They are currently tied for eighth in the conference standings with Colorado Christian. The Griffins are 4-3 on the road this season. They are coming off consecutive home losses to Colorado Christian and Colorado Mines last weekend.
The Griffins are scoring 62.4 points per game and they are sixth in the RMAC by shooting 39.6 percent from the floor. They connect on 7.8 3-pointers per game to place third in the league while sitting second at 34.7 percent from beyond the arc. The team is also second in the conference by shooting 77.7 percent at the foul line.
Sydnee Taylor leads the Griffins in scoring at 11.9 points per game. That average ranks 15th in the RMAC. Dense Gonzalez and
Aubrie Vale have scored 124 points apiece to tie for second on the team at 9.5 points per game.
Riley Reidhead makes 41.9 percent from beyond the arc to rank second in the RMAC.
Westminster is allowing 66.8 points per game with opponents shooting 61.6 percent from the floor. The Griffins grab 34.5 rebounds per contest and give up 36.2. They are seventh in the conference at 11.8 assists and seventh with 7.3 steals per game.
Vale has a team-leading 72 rebounds and 42 assists. She is seventh in the conference with her average of 3.2 assists per game. Vale also leads the Griffins with 21 made threes. Taylor is second on the team with 50 rebounds and 20 makes from deep. Gonzalez has a team-best 26 steals and is second in the RMAC at 2.0 steals per game.
Shoot the Rock
The Griffins are one of the top shooting team in the conference. They rank in the 15-team league's top six in all three shooting categories, including placing second in the conference by hitting 77.7 percent at the foul line. The Griffins are sixth in field goal percentage at 39.6 percent and second by making 34.7 percent from beyond the arc.
From Way Downtown
The Griffins continue to shoot the ball well from beyond the arc by making 7.8 threes per game to rank third in the RMAC. They are second in the conference by making 34.7 percent from deep. The team has made at least six threes in every game this season and have gone for seven-plus in each of the past eight outings.
Road Warriors
The Griffins will return to the road this weekend to as part of a stretch that will see them play 11 of 15 games away from home. The team has played just five home games this season and only have two home games on tap through February 9. Westminster traveled 7,130 land miles in November and December. The team is 4-3 in road games this season with all four wins coming on Fridays.
Immediate Impact
Sydnee Taylor currently leads the Griffins in scoring at 11.9 points per game and she ranks 15th in the conference in that category. Taylor has scored in double figures eight times on the year and led the team in scoring during three games. She is shooting 42.3 percent from the field and she makes 89.3 percent at the foul line. Taylor also grabs 3.8 rebounds per game and has made 20 triples.
Triple Threat
Aubrie Vale is scoring 9.5 points per game to rank second in the team. She has scored in double figures seven times, including four of the past five games. Vale leads the Griffins with 72 rebounds and 42 assists. She is seventh in the RMAC with 3.2 assists per game. Vale recorded a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds at Colorado Mines on December 30. The 15 rebounds are the most in a game by a Griffin since Tia Pappas in November of 2012.
Take the Rock
Denise Gonzalez is scoring 9.5 points per game to rank second on the team. She leads the Griffins with 26 steals and is tied for second in the RMAC at 2.0 steals per game. Gonzalez has at least one steal in all but one game this season with multiple steals in a game 10 times.
