RINDGE, N.H. – The Westminster women's soccer team completed its weekend at the Franklin Pierce Classic with a 3-0 win against Felician on Sunday afternoon.

Westminster (2-0) tied a school record with its fifth straight win dating back to last season. This is the third consecutive season they have started 2-0 and the fifth time in the 10 seasons of the program.

The Griffins would take the 1-0 lead in the 11th minute when
Madison Roemer notched her second goal of the season. The senior took a couple of dribbles to the right side of the penalty area and put a shot away for her sixth career game-winning goal.

The game remained 1-0 at halftime despite Westminster posting an 8-1 edge in shots and putting seven of those chances on goal. They broke through for the second goal in the 62nd minute as
Heidi Lorschider found a loose ball and toed it off the post and in for her first goal of the season.

Just 90 seconds later the Griffins found a third tally when
Alexis Sims buried a shot from 30 yards out to collect her first career goal.
Emily Pascua played the ball to Sims for her shot to the top left of the goal.

Westminster took 11 shots in the second half without allowing Felician (0-2) any chances. They Griffins put 13 of their total attempts on goal with Pascua leading the team with four shots and all of them on target.

Breanna Empey claimed the victory in goal for the Griffins after playing the first 75 minutes.
Hillary Weixler finished the final 15 minutes of time for her first collegiate experience.

The Griffins will now return home to host a pair of games before starting RMAC action. They begin the homestand on September 11 against Saint Martin's. Tickets for all home games are available now at
