SALT LAKE CITY – It took nearly 110 minutes of action, but the Westminster women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 win over Western State Colorado on Friday afternoon at Dumke Field in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
In a game that saw Westminster (5-1, 2-0 RMAC) take 26 shots and allow just one, the Griffins couldn't break through until 10 seconds were remaining in the second overtime. That is when
Madison Roemer got one last shot on a free kick from 35 yards that she put inside the near post for her fourth goal of the season.
The shot was the eighth of the game for Roemer and the third she had on target. Her 13th career goal is her fourth game-winner this season. It was also the latest goal ever score by the Griffins, coming at 109:50.
The Griffins would finish the game with nine shots on goal with the lone chance for Western State (3-3-1, 1-1) coming in the 58th minute. Westminster took seven corner kicks and surrendered only one.

Tiana Cerciello all had three shots apiece for the Griffins with Cerciello putting two on frame.
Breanna Empey notched her fourth shutout of the year with one save. She lowered her goals-against-average to 0.17 with her fifth victory.
