DURANGO, Colo. – The Westminster women's lacrosse team saw its offense struggle in a 15-7 loss at Fort Lewis on Sunday afternoon.

Westminster (2-6) was in a 5-0 hole less than eight minutes into play and Fort Lewis (6-4) took an 11-1 advantage into halftime. Westminster showed signs in the second half, but couldn't close the gap to closer than eight in a second straight loss.
 
Fort Lewis had a 35-14 edge in shot attempts and that advantage was 22-3 in the first half. The Skyhawks went 23-13 in ground balls and claimed 13 of 24 draw controls. Each team committed 20 turnovers and the Griffins were 12 of 18 in clearing chances.
 
Katie Adams would lead the Griffins with three goals and one assist in defeat. She put all seven of her shots on cage and also and three draw controls and one caused turnover. No other Griffin had more than one goals while Hanna Lukes led the team with two assists.
 
Taylor Hekking took the loss in goal allowing 11 goals and making six saves while playing the first half. Caitlyn Laffey played the second half with six saves and four goals allowed.
 
Ellie Carpenter led Fort Lewis with five goals and six points.
