Women Defend Title; Men Finish Second

WHITEFACE, N.Y. – The Westminster snowboard teams came home from the 2016 USCSA National Championships with a total of 10 first-places trophies, including the women winning a second straight title. The Westminster men finished second in the overall standings after the four events were completed.
 
The Griffin women have now won the USCSA National Championship seven times in the eight years of the program. This is the seventh time the men's team has finished as the runner-up.
 
Emma Crosby secured her second straight USCSA Individual National Championship by scoring 12 points in the four events. Crosby also took the title in the Giant Slalom event and she had a total of three podium finishes at the National Championships.
 
Haille Soderholm finished second in the overall standings after scoring 16 points during the week. Soderholm won the USCSA title in both the Rail Jam and Slopestyle events. She would also place second in the Boardercross and 12th in the Giant Slalom.
 
Jaime Vincent placed fourth overall with 19 points and Kelly Kirby was fifth with her 30 points. Vincent recorded a podium finish – third-place – in the Boardercross and was fourth in the Rail Jam and Slopestyle.  Kirby had a fourth-place finish in the Giant Slalom and was fifth in the Rail Jam.
 
Looking to defend his 2015 National Championship, Owen Golden would place third at this year's event. He won the individual title in the Slopestyle and was fourth in the Rail Jam. Golden completed his 22 total points by finishing sixth in Boardercross and 11th in the Giant Slalom.
 
Jordan Duffy and Robbie Roethler finished sixth and seventh respectively. Duffy scored 40 points with a best mark of eighth in the Giant Slalom. Roethler was fourth in the Slopestyle and fifth in the Giant Slalom. He placed eighth in the Rail Jam and had 43 total points during the week.
 
The Westminster women swept all four event titles with the men finishing second in each event.
