PUEBLO, Colo. – The Westminster women's soccer team lost consecutive games for the first time this season as they fell at Colorado State University – Pueblo 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
Westminster (8-4-3, 5-3-3 RMAC) remains at 18 points in the conference standings and slips to sixth-place with one game to play.
The game was fairly even throughout the day as both teams finished with nine shots. The game's lone goal came in the 70th minute as Brianna Garcia secured her first goal of the season to lead CSU-Pueblo (11-3, 8-2) to the victory.
The Griffins only got two of their nine shots on goal. The first came from
Emily Bergland in the 43rd minute.
Heidi Lorschider had the second shot on goal in the 57th minute. After they fell behind, Westminster only had two shots with
Libby Dearden putting gone high and Lorschider seeing on go wide.
Lorschider and
Tiana Cerciello led the Griffins with three shots apiece and were the only players with multiple chances.
Breanna Empey took the loss in goal with three saves.
