SILVER CITY, N.M. – The Westminster women's volleyball team had a tough time getting its offense going and they fell in three sets at Western New Mexico in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match on Friday night.
 
Westminster (4-10, 1-5 RMAC) only recorded 23 kills in the match and they were held to .009 hitting. Western New Mexico (11-3, 6-0) had 40 kills and hit .192 in the 25-9, 25-20, 25-21 victory.
 
The Griffins only had three kills in the opening set as they were limited to negative-.286 hitting. They came back with 11 kills in the second set before getting nine in the final frame.
 
Alyse Horton led the Griffins with seven kills while adding eight digs. Amara Culpepper and Whitney Wakefield added four kills apiece. Jaden Green had a team-best 10 digs.
 
Western New Mexico was led by Leeta Grap with 10 kills and 10 digs. Shannon Rich added nine kills and hit .467.
 
Westminster will be back in action on Saturday when they face New Mexico Highlands at 7 p.m. MT in Las Vegas, N.M.
