SALT LAKE CITY – The fourth-ranked Westminster College women's basketball team will travel to Caldwell, Idaho this week for a game on Saturday at College of Idaho. Saturday's 2 p.m. MST tipoff at the J.A. Albertson Center will mark the second meeting between the two teams this season. Westminster defeated the Yotes 71-65 in the Behnken Field House last month.

GRIFFIN NOTES
The Griffins will take to the road for the fourth straight game away from home at 5-1 on the season. They are coming off a 68-55 win at Montana Western in the Frontier Conference opener last Saturday. Westminster moved up to No. 4 in the first regular season edition NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll that was released on Tuesday.
Westminster is scoring 68.2 points per game and shooting 44.8 percent from the floor. They lead the Frontier and are 10th in the NAIA in field goal percentage and they place third in the country by shooting 43.1 percent from beyond the arc. With an average of 16.83 assists per game, the Griffins place 14th in the nation and they have a 1.66 assist-to-turnover ratio to rank second in the NAIA.
Defensively, Westminster is allowing 56.7 points per game and they limit opponents to 38.3 percent shooting. Those numbers place the Griffins eighth and 48th in the NAIA respectively. The Griffins are forcing 14.5 turnovers per game with an average of 6.83 steals per night to score 19 points per game from opponent miscues.
Three players are scoring in double figures for the Griffins this season.
Shelby Ellsworth leads all Griffins with her 11.5 points per game average.
Alli Blake and
Amy Krommenhoek are scoring 11 points per game apiece.
Tia Pappas leads the way with 35 rebounds and 10 steals while Blake has a team-best 27 assists.
NATIONAL RANKING
Westminster received 224 points and moved up to No. 4 in the first regular season coaches' poll of the season that was announced on Tuesday. The Griffins have now been ranked in the top 25 for 25 consecutive polls dating back to Dec. 12, 2011. They have also spent the last 14 polls inside the top five which is the longest active streak in the country.
KEEP AWAY AND SHARING THE ROCK
Westminster is second in the NAIA with a 1.66 assist-to-turnover ratio through the first six games of the season. As a team, the Griffins are recording 16.83 assists per night while only committing 10.2 turnovers. They have totaled more assists than turnovers in each of the past five games with at least 15 assists in five of the six games.
Three Griffins are currently ranked in the top 21 of the NAIA in assist-to-turnover ratio, including
Katie Walker's 3.00 ratio that is 11th in the nation.
Amy Krommenhoek is at 2.75 to sit 17th in the NAIA with
Alli Blake ranking 21st with her 2.70 ratio.
TAKING AWAY THE ROCK
The Griffins are forcing 14.5 turnovers per game through six games and hold a positive 4.33 turnover margin to rank 19th in the country. They record 6.83 steals per contest and are scoring 19 points per game from those turnovers. That accounts for 27.9 percent of all of the Griffins points in a game compared to the 14.5 percent by the opposition.
WELCOME BACK ELLSWORTH
Sophomore
Shelby Ellsworth returns after sitting out last season with a knee injury. Ellsworth posted the first 20-20 game in school history when she had 23 points and 20 rebounds in a game versus Cal Maritime in 2010. This season, Ellsworth leads the team in scoring at 11.5 points per game while scoring in double figures on five occasions. She ranks 17th in the Frontier in scoring average while also grabbing five rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest.
BENCH PRODUCTION FROM KROMMENHOEK
Amy Krommenhoek has come off the bench in all six games this season and she is tied for second on the team in scoring at 11 points per night. She scored a career high 20 points in the loss at Vanguard (Calif.) where she went 6-of-9 from the floor and 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. For the season, Krommenhoek is averaging 2.67 treys per game, 16th in the NAIA, while shooting 50 percent from deep to rank 12th. She has scored in double figures four times with multiple threes in all but one game.
THE BLAKE SHOW
Senior
Alli Blake has been doing a little bit of everything for the Griffins this season. She is currently scoring 11 points per game while shooting 49.1 percent from the field. Blake leads the squad with 27 assists and ranks 23rd in the NAIA by posting 4.5 assist per game. She has also collected 21 rebounds (12 offensive) with five steals and two blocked shots.
WELLS A SCORING THREAT
Kelsi Wells is scoring 9.8 points per game and has been the team's leading scorer a team-best two times. The senior was name Preseason All-Frontier Conference after scoring 10.3 points per game in league games last season. Wells had back-to-back 17-point performances against College of Idaho and Biola (Calif.) last month for her only two double-digit scoring games of the season. She is third on the team with 28 rebounds, including a team-best 23 on the defensive end of the floor.
A WINTERS WONDERLAND
Alli Winters has been a long range specialist for the Griffins this season. The junior is averaging 2.67 threes per contest to place 16th in the NAIA and she is third nationally by shooting 61.5 percent from beyond the arc. Winters went 6-for-8 from deep to finish with a career-high 20 points in the win at Montana Western last Saturday. She has shot above 50 percent from deep in four of the six games played with multiple triples in a game four times.
