Box Score MERCED, Calif. – The seventh-ranked Westminster College men's basketball team defeated California-Merced 89-49 on Tuesday night in the team's first game since Dec. 1.

Westminster is now 10-1 on the season and has won six straight games. UC-Merced falls to 0-12 on the year with the loss.

Jake Orchard led the Griffins with a season-high 28 points. Jordan Hayter and Alex Dreckel added 13 points apiece. Westminster shot 55 percent from the floor and forced Merced into 27 turnovers.

The Griffins will complete this road trip on Wednesday night when they travel to Angwin, Calif. for an 8 p.m. tip against Pacific Union (Calif.).
