SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's lacrosse team completes the 2010 home schedule with games against Brigham Young and Pepperdine this weekend. Westminster welcomes BYU to Dumke Field on Friday, March 19 for a 6 p.m. start. Pepperdine takes on the Griffins on Saturday, March 20 at 2 p.m.
Westminster enters the weekend at 4-5 on the season and 1-2 in games played at Dumke Field. After dropping the home opener to Colorado State on March 5, Westminster split games with Air Force and Wyoming on March 6. Westminster dropped a tough 10-9 decision to Wyoming in the last outing for the Griffins.
Westminster is averaging 10.4 goals per game while shooting 53.1%. They allow 10.2 goals per contest and have taken 77 draw controls to just 68 by the opposition. The Griffins have outscored their opponents 47-44 in the second half this season.
Kaicee Beal leads the team with 40 points and 34 goals scored. Beal has scored two game-winning goals and collected 32 ground balls this season. She has seven games with multiple goals and scored five or more goals in three games. Sage West has recorded a team-best 18 assists and is second on the squad with 33 points.
Lindsey Mark has 23 points behind 21 goals while
Erika Rebentisch has posted 12 points.
Carson Chambers has gathered a team-leading 39 ground balls.
Jessie Mulvey has made 53 saves between the pipes.
