The Westminster men's basketball hits the road for the final time of the regular season with games at Rocky Mountain College and Carroll College this week. The seventh-ranked Griffins visit Billings, Montana for an 8 p.m. game against Rocky on Thursday, February 18. The trip concludes in Helena, Montana on Saturday, February 20 at 8 p.m. against Carroll.
Westminster moved up to No. 7 in the NAIA poll after picking up two home wins last week. They are now 20-5 on the season and at 10-1 in the Frontier Conference they hold a two-game lead with three games to play. The Griffins carry a magic number of two to clinch a third consecutive regular season championship and second straight outright title.
Allowing just 61.3 points per game, Westminster ranks fourth in the NAIA in scoring defense. They also limit the opposition to just 40.3% shooting and rank 13th nationally in that department. Offensively the team scores 70.8 points per outing while shooting 49.2% from the floor. Westminster has 404 assists and has recorded an assists on 63.3% of the 638 total field goals made.
The Griffins have three players averaging in double figures in points, led by 15.3 points per game from
Blair Prowse.
Ben Walker puts up 14.3 points per contest and
Weston Anderson drops 13 points per night. The three have led or tied for the team lead in scoring in all but one game this season. Walker also leads the team with 144 rebounds while Anderson has a team-best 97 assists.
Michael Stockton leads the bench attack with his 8.2 points per game. Stockton has reached double figures in points in seven games this season including two of the last three games.
Jeramie Hopson adds 7.1 points and is tied with Stockton for the team lead in steals with 45.

Westminster leads the Frontier Conference standings and holds a two-game lead over second place Montana Western. If the tournament started today, Westminster would host Montana Tech on Tuesday, March 2 in the Behnken Field House.
