Box Score 4 SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's lacrosse team completed the Santa Barbara Shootout with a 1-3 record after playing four games in two days. The Griffins (3-3) opened the tournament with an 18-12 win against Davenport on Friday. On Saturday, Westminster lost 13-10 against Saint Benedict, 11-9 against UC-San Diego, and 4-3 against Chapman.
Westminster got a quick start to the event with an 18-12 win over Davenport.
Kaicee Beal led the charge with five goals and two assists. Sage West added four goals and five assists while
Lindsey Mark also had four goals.
Erika Rebentisch collected three ground balls and
Jessie Mulvey posted eight saves.
The Griffins three-game winning streak was snapped with a 13-10 loss against the College of Saint Benedict. Beal scored four goals in the game with Mark and
Yvonne Sumampong adding two goals. Mulvey made five saves.
UC-San Diego handed Westminster a second consecutive loss with an 11-9 win. Beal again scored four goals while adding four ground balls. Mark contributed three goals with Rebentisch scoring twice. Mulvey was solid between the pipes with six saves.
The tournament concluded with Chapman defeating Westminster 4-3. The Griffins three goals came from Beal, West, and Mark with Beal adding three ground balls.
Erin Foslid gathered three ground balls and Mulvey posted a career high 10 saves.
Westminster doesn't return to action until Friday, March 5 when they host Colorado State on Dumke Field in the 2010 home opener. That 4 p.m. game begins the Rocky Mountain Women's Lacrosse League regular season tournament being played on Dumke Field. There will be six RMWLL games on Saturday, March 6, including two featuring the Griffins.
