Box Score ROCKLIN, Calif. – Behind 20 points from
Nicole Yazzie, the 10th-ranked Westminster women's basketball team earned an 85-73 victory over William Jessup on Friday evening. Westminster (8-1) shot 56.7% from the field while making eight three-pointers in a seventh consecutive win.
The Griffins shot 60% in the first 20 minutes and carried a 44-37 lead into the intermission. They forced William Jessup (0-7) into 23 turnovers and turned them into 16 points. Westminster also scored 44 points in the paint while holding a 29-26 rebounding advantage.
Yazzie added six assists, six steals and five rebounds to her 20 points.
Michelle Pace and
Allie Eastman added 15 points apiece while
Brooke Larsen scored 12 points off the bench. Pace and Eastman each added four assists with Larsen grabbing three rebounds.
Ashley Rose led William Jessup with 32 points on 8 of 13 shooting. Rose had five treys and six rebounds. WJU shot 46.7% from the floor and 31.6% from beyond the arc.
Westminster will finish the California trip on Saturday in Redding when they face Simpson University at 2 p.m.
