Box Score HELENA, Mont. – The Westminster women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision against No. 19 Carroll in the semi-finals of the Unaffiliated Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Nelson Stadium. Westminster fell behind early in what could turn out to be the final game of the season. The Griffins should finish the season with an 11-8-1 record.
Molly Clark struck first for Carroll, finding the back of the net in the 15th minute from Abby Coburn. Carroll made it 2-0 in the 24th minute on a Macie Netz goal from Kelsey Dye. Lauren Cacopardo tallied the final goal in the 71st minute to secure the victory of the Saints.
Westminster managed just four shots in the game while Carroll got off 12 attempts. The Griffins lone shot on goal came from
Lorin Wathen.
Lindsay Bekken made five saves in defeat.
Westminster will now hope they did enough to receive one of six at-large berths into the NAIA National Championships. The 32-team field will be announced on Sunday, November 14 by the NAIA.
