Westminster has gone 9-2 in games away from the Behnken Field House this season, including a 5-1 mark in true road games. They are 2-0 on Frontier road games with wins over Montana Tech and Montana Western earlier this month.

Just Keep Winning
Westminster is riding an 13-game winning streak which is the second longest such streak in school history. The Griffins ran 17 wins together during the 2008-09 season to set a school record. They won nine straight during the 2000-01 season and eight straight to open the year last season. Westminster is currently riding an 20-game winning streak against Frontier Conference foes in regular season action.

From Way Downtown
Once again Westminster is not afraid to fire from long range. Westminster currently ranks second in the NAIA with 202 total makes from beyond the arc and are fourth with an average of 9.6 makes per game. The 41.3% they shoot from deep is second nationally.

Magical Mark
The Griffins are 11-0 this season when they score 80-plus points. They have gone 6-4 when they fail to reach the 80-point barrier, but have won six straight when not scoring 80. Westminster has allowed the opposition to reach 80 points in four games and is 2-2 in those contests. In the past two seasons, Westminster is 28-0 when they score at least 80 points.

Jessop Does it All
McKenzie Jessop is posting some solid numbers during her senior season. Jessop currently sits second on the team with 280 points. She is shooting 57.1% from the field and leads the conference with 3.1 steals per game. Her 150 rebounds lead the team and her 5.95 defensive rebounds per game are tops in the Frontier. Jessop is also ranked in the top 10 in the conference in scoring, free throw percentage, total rebounds, assists, and assist/turnover ratio.

Freshmen Play Big Minutes
Westminster has two freshmen that start and play big minutes for the team this season. Allie Eastman has started 20 games this season while Nicole Yazzie has made nine starts. Yazzie is third on the team in scoring with 241 points and is third on the squad with 69 assists. As a starter, Yazzie is scoring 14.3 points per game and shoots 55.6% from the floor. Eastman currently scores 11.8 points per game and leads the team with 31 offensive rebounds. Three times this season, Eastman has led the team in scoring including a 21 point performance at Montana Tech.

Massey Ratings
Westminster climbed four spots to No. 17 in the weekly Massey Computer Ratings that were released on January 26. The Massey Ratings are a computer ranking system that compares all NAIA teams based on their season results. The ratings compare teams using several factors including offense efficiency, defense efficiency, home court advantage, and strength of schedule.

Westminster currently is 11th in offensive efficiency and is 25th in home court advantage. They take a slight hit in the ratings as the computer includes the Griffins two exhibition games against Utah and Southern Utah. Lewis-Clark State is the highest rated team from the Frontier Conference at No. 10.

Frontier Conference Playoffs
The 2010 Frontier Conference Tournament will again be played on the campus of the higher seed in each game. The opening round of the women's tournament will take place on Tuesday, March 2, with the top-four teams hosting the remaining four teams. The current standing would see the Griffins playing host to Great Falls in an opening round game. Westminster has a magic number of six to host an opening round game.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day

Westminster will host Montana Tech on Saturday, February 13 as part of the National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Mention National Girls and Women in Sports Day and girls and one guest will be admitted for FREE to the game. Any additional family members pay only $1. Next Week
Westminster continues this three-game road swing with games on the road at Great Falls and Montana State-Northern. They visit Great Falls on Friday, February 5 and Northern one night later in Havre. Both games are scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
