Box Score OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Westminster women's basketball team defeated Evergreen State 64-56 on Friday night at the Evergreen State Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday night. Westminster scored well below their season average of 81 points, but played well enough to defeat the Geoducks. The win improves the Griffins to 5-4 on the season and dropped Evergreen State to 2-4.
Westminster shot 48.8% in the game and finished with a 33-26 rebounding advantage. They held Evergreen State to just 34% shooting and forced 24 turnovers.
McKenzie Jessop finished the game with 14 points and eight rebounds. She shot 6-of-12 from the field and recorded three steals.
Allie Eastman also had 14 points to go with three assists and four steals.
Candace Smith added a season high 11 points off the bench.
Westminster completes the trip to Olympia by facing Northwest (Wash.) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday in the final day of the Thanksgiving Tournament.
