Griffins Upset No. 9 Lambuth

Allie Eastman scored 23 points to help Westminster upset No. 9 Lambuth on Friday.
Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. - The Westminster women's basketball team scored 62 points in the second half to upset No. 9 Lambuth 95-88 at the Jackson Rotary Classic on Friday night. Westminster improves to 4-3 on the season and snaps a 2-game losing skid.

Freshman Nicole Yazzie led the Griffins attack with 27 points. Fellow freshman Allie Eastman scored 23 points. Westminster shot 52.4% from the field and scored 16 points from 13 Lambuth turnovers.

Lambuth (5-3) led by as many as seventeen points in the first half and enjoyed a 46-33 lead at the break, but could not overcome Westminister's red-hot second half shooting. Westminster shot 64% in the second half to rally for the win.

The Griffins hit 8-of-10 three-point field goals in the second stanza and handed Lambuth their third loss of the campaign.

Jenee Webb led Lambuth in scoring with 30 points. Webb has averaged 27 points in the last four games.

Westminster wraps up play at the Classic against No. 6 Freed-Hardeman on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
