Second Half Run Dooms Griffins

Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Westminster saw No. 11 Point Loma Nazarene use a 13-0 run to begin the second half to put the game out of reach. Westminster had cut the halftime lead to seven behind a 8-2 run to end the half, but Point Loma Nazarene took control from there. No. 16 Westminster couldn't get stops, allowing PLNU to shoot 59.1 percent for the game and 63.6 in the second half. With the loss Westminster falls to 9-2 on the season while PLNU improves to 2-1.

Westminster couldn't overcome the 25 turnovers they committed. Those turnovers resulted in 32 point for Point Loma Nazarene. Alexis Tucker led Westminster with 20 points and was 8-of-12 shooting. Tucker also collected six rebounds and two assists. Michelle Pace went for a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Shannon Evans added 11 points and seven assists; however she shot just 3-of-10 and committed 11 turnovers. Elisa Leader scored 14 while Westminster's second leading scorer Keshia Catten managed just three points.

Colleen Planeta led all players with 30 points for PLNU. Kaitlyn Trotter added 25 and Amanda Franz went for 17 in the win. PLNU only scored four points off the bench, all from Pernilla Hanson.

Westminster will now head to Georgetown, Kentucky for two games next weekend. They open the trip on Friday, December 5 against the University of the Cumberlands.
