ABOUT THE WESTMINSTER SPIRIT TEAM
- Will be part of the athletic department and associated costs will be covered by Westminster College. This includes uniforms, shoes, props, bags and travel.
- Will have access to team doctors, therapists and trainers
- Will practice Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 6:30-9:00am. The dance team will have a required technique class one night per week. (TBA) The cheer team will have a required fitness session one night per week. (TBA)
- Will have the option to be considered for a talent award at the live tryout
- Will be required to attend 90% of sporting events
ABOUT THE WESTMINSTER DANCE TEAM
The dance team will perform at most halftime events as well as support student-athletes in the stands. They will compete each spring at a collegiate competition and present a showcase at the end of the season.
Audition requirements:
- 2 letters of recommendation to attest to your work ethic, discipline and character
- Official transcript from last school attended to show GPA
- Headshot
- Right and left splits
- Clean triple pirouette or more
- Split leap, right and left
- Consecutive fouette turns, 8 or more
- You will be required to learn some combos across the floor showing kicks, leaps and turns
- You will be asked to learn a 64 count piece that will show style, learning capabilities and technique

ABOUT THE WESTMINSTER CHEER SQUAD
The cheer team will support student athletes from the sidelines of most games. They will have the opportunity to perform at some halftimes, time outs and other school related events. Some travel may be involved. Competition may also be involved.
Audition requirements:
- 2 letters of recommendation to attest to your work ethic, discipline and character
- Official transcript from last school attended to show GPA
- Headshot
- Toe touches
- One jump of choice
- Splits, right and left
- Bases will be asked to show an elevator extension into quick toss cradle
- Flyers will be asked to show an elevator full down
- Backhandspring
- Back tuck (light spot is OK)
- You will be taught a quick cheer to show style, strength, learning capability and volume
