SALT LAKE CITY — Westminster University volleyball has earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award, the program's seventh consecutive year receiving the honor.

The Griffins posted a team GPA of 3.59, exceeding the 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) threshold required for the award. Westminster was one of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams nationwide to meet the standard during the 2025-26 school year.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

Programs receiving the award for 10 or more consecutive years were highlighted among this year's honorees. Jonesboro High School (Ark.) and Ross S. Sterling High School (Texas) hold the record at 34 consecutive seasons.

The full list of programs earning the additional Team Academic Honor Roll distinction — awarded to teams in the top 20% of GPAs in their division — is available on the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll.

About AVCA Team Academic Award The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes volleyball programs — collegiate and high school — that maintain a team GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale) across the academic year.
