Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Griffins Roll Past Fort Lewis 20-3 on Senior Day in Home Victory

Game Breakdown

First Half

Westminster came out of the gate fast, scoring seven unanswered goals in the first quarter. Jordan Williamson led the charge with three first-quarter goals, while Lilliana Montano added two and Madi Rogers and Shaina Shoughro each chipped in one to send the Griffins into the second up 7-0. Westminster kept the pressure on in the second, with Williamson, Segaline, Rogers, Williamson again on a man-up free position shot, Shaina Shoughro, and Jessie Giacomazzi all finding the net to push the lead to 13-0. Fort Lewis broke through late in the half on a Marissa LaCivita man-up goal, but Jadyn Kohan answered with a free-position goal just before the buzzer to send Westminster to the break leading 14-1.

Second Half

Kaitlyn Parish took over in goal to start the third quarter. Fort Lewis showed some life, scoring twice — Grace Butler off a Zoi Delgado assist and LaCivita off a Valerie Garcia assist — to cut it to 14-3. Westminster responded with Shaina Shoughro off a Montano assist and Segaline on a free position shot to close the quarter ahead 16-3. The Griffins added four more in the fourth — two man-up goals from Montano, one from Holly Shoughro, and a final score from Giacomazzi off a Grace Szwedko assist — to seal the 20-3 final.
