Griffins Come Up Short Against Colorado Christian in RMAC Action

SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster men's basketball dropped a 74–65 RMAC decision to Colorado Christian on Thursday night at Behnken Field House.

The Griffins cut a nine-point halftime deficit to a single possession late in the second half, but Colorado Christian closed the game at the free-throw line to secure the road win.


Game Breakdown

First Half

Colorado Christian built early momentum and carried a 45–36 lead into halftime, shooting 56.25% (18–32) from the field and knocking down 5–14 (35.7%) from three. Westminster stayed within range by converting 7–11 at the free-throw line and shooting 41.38% (12–29) in the opening period.

Second Half

Westminster matched Colorado Christian with 29 points in the second half and shot 48.0% (12–25) from the field after the break. The Griffins trimmed the deficit to one possession multiple times but were unable to fully complete the comeback.

Individual Performances

Jake Nadauld led Westminster with 17 points, adding 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Jack Jamele followed with 19 points on 9–12 shooting, while Michael Fraizer finished with 14 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.
Cole Kadoguchi added 8 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds, and Boston Painter pulled down 8 rebounds off the bench.

Team Numbers

Westminster finished the night shooting 44.4% (24–54) from the field and 32.0% (8–25) from three, while recording 15 assists and losing the rebounding battle 30–31. Colorado Christian converted 11–18 at the free-throw line and scored 27 bench points.


Big Picture

The loss moves Westminster to 7–12 overall and 2–9 in RMAC play. The Griffins will look to bounce back as conference action continues this weekend at home.
