SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster women's soccer generated plenty of chances but could not find the back of the net in a 0–0 draw with Colorado Christian on Sunday at Dumke Field.
The Griffins (3-0-3) outshot the Cougars 19–2, including a 7–1 advantage in shots on goal. CCU goalkeeper Mia Mares kept the Cougars in the match with seven saves across 90 minutes, while Westminster's Marin Mackenzie needed just one save to secure the clean sheet.
Sage Stott led the Griffins with four shots, putting one on target, while Kara Dickey added four shots of her own. Natalie Cardin recorded two attempts, including one on goal, and Gracie East also contributed a pair of shots from the backline. In total, nine different Westminster players registered a shot.
Westminster also held a 5–2 advantage in corner kicks and committed nine fouls compared to four from CCU. The Griffin defense was sharp, limiting the Cougars to just two total shots and one on frame.
Westminster continues RMAC action next weekend on the road.
