SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster men's soccer earned a 1–0 win over Colorado School of Mines on Sunday afternoon at Dumke Field, powered by a first-half strike from Max Edwards.
Edwards scored his first goal of the season in the 41st minute, finishing off an assist from Jack Cardwell to give the Griffins (4-3-0) the lead. Cardwell was active all afternoon, leading Westminster with six shots and two on goal.
The Griffins dominated the shot totals with a 20–4 advantage, including an 8–0 edge in shots on target. James Miles and Alejandro Puente each tallied multiple attempts, while Kristián Bombeck contributed three shots from the midfield.
Colorado School of Mines (1-2-4) was limited to just four total shots and failed to register one on frame. Orediggers goalkeeper Kiernan DiBella kept his side close, recording seven saves.
Westminster goalkeeper Oliver Olsen earned the clean sheet without facing a shot on goal across the full 90 minutes.
The match featured seven yellow cards, including cautions for Cam Neeley, Ashton Duran, and Luke Denison from Westminster.
The Griffins will continue RMAC play on the road next weekend.
