Montrose, CO - The Westminster men's golf team continued its fall campaign at the San Juan Intercollegiate, hosted at The Bridges Golf & Country Club in Montrose, Colorado. Facing a competitive regional field, the Griffins showed flashes of high-level play across the three-day event. The tournament provided a great opportunity and several Griffins, especially senior Andrew Ahlstrom, who delivered standout performances that highlighted the team and their potential for the season ahead.
Ahlstrom continued his strong start to the season, competing as an individual and posting rounds of 70 (–1), 69 (–2), and 71 (E) to finish at 210 (–3). His play across all three rounds demonstrated a lot of consistency against a talented field and a hard course, earning him a top-20 finish and marking him as a player to watch as the fall schedule unfolds.
For the Griffins' team lineup, Anthony Goodson and Nic Jensen paced the group, each carding 216 (+3). Goodson capped his week with a blistering 66 (–5) in the final round, while Jensen rallied late with rounds of 71 (E) and 67 (–4) after a slow start. Hayden Howell finished at 224 (+11), highlighted by his closing 71 (E), while Wyatt Toney contributed a 228 (+15) with a strong second-round 71 (E). Ty Anderson rounded out the Westminster scoring at 232 (+19), opening the tournament with a steady 76.
As a team, Westminster closed the event with a total score of 879 (+27). With the San Juan Intercollegiate now complete, the Griffins turn their attention to the rest of their fall slate, including the SMU Bishop Invitational (Sept. 26–27 in DuPont, Wash.) and the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational (Oct. 6–7 in Amarillo, Texas).
