After a quick turnaround from New Mexico to Colorado, the Westminster volleyball team faced Adams State on Saturday afternoon in Alamosa. The Grizzlies capitalized on their home court advantage early, taking the first two sets 25-18 and 25-22.
The Griffins, however, responded with composure and adjustments that shifted the momentum. Freshman Sadie Parrish powered the offense with a match-high 20 kills, while Isabella DeAntoni and Josie Gerritsen anchored the defense with 12 digs each. Their efforts helped Westminster take control of the third set with a 25-16 win before edging Adams State 25-23 in the fourth to force a decisive fifth set.
In the final frame, Adams State led for much of the way, but Westminster stayed resilient. Trailing late, the Griffins rallied to tie the score at 13-13 and then secured the final two points to complete the reverse sweep with a 15-13 victory.
The win marked an early-season highlight for Westminster, showcasing the team's ability to battle through adversity and finish strong in tight matches.
