Liberty, MO – The Westminster Griffins women's lacrosse team put on a dominant performance, rolling past William Jewell 14-1 in a commanding road victory.
The Griffins set the tone early, scoring three goals in the opening quarter while holding William Jewell to just one. Shaina Shoughro opened the scoring just minutes into the game, and after a brief response from William Jewell, she struck again before Lilliana Montano capped off the first-quarter run.
Westminster's defense tightened up, shutting out the Cardinals for the final three quarters. Meanwhile, the Griffins offense continued to fire on all cylinders, outscoring their opponent 11-0 the rest of the way.
Offensive Leaders
Midfielder Celia Fidanza orchestrated the attack, assisting with three goals to fuel the Griffin offense.
The Griffins' defensive effort was suffocating, limiting William Jewell to just a single goal in the opening frame and keeping them scoreless for the remainder of the game. The defense also forced multiple turnovers, disrupting any offensive rhythm from the Cardinals.
