SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster battled through another five-set match on Saturday night but came up just short against Adams State, falling 3–2 inside Behnken Field House. Set scores were 25–20, 21–25, 25–23, 19–25, 10–15 as the Griffins dropped to 13–9 overall.
The Griffins totaled 58 kills while hitting .147 as a team. Alie Sparrow led the offense with 14 kills, followed closely by Breegan Huntsman with 12 and Mailei Myers with 10. From the service line, Westminster finished with five aces, including two each from Huntsman and Ava Livolsi, and one from Myers.
At the net, the Griffins tallied 13 total blocks, led by Myers with 6, Sparrow with 3, and Hailey Killett adding 2. Setter Leila Cornejo paced the offense with 23 assists, while Atley Mitchell added 14 and Livolsi chipped in 4.
Defensively, Livolsi led the way with 17 digs, followed by Cornejo with 16 and Huntsman with 13.
The Griffins will be back at home this Friday and Saturday for their final homestand of the 2025 season, with games against Regis University and Chadron State College.
