DENVER – Westminster men's soccer earned a pivotal 1–0 road victory over MSU Denver on Friday night at The Assembly Athletic Complex. The win lifts the Griffins to 8-5-2 overall and 4-2-2 in RMAC play as they continue their push toward postseason qualification.
James Miles provided the difference in the 20th minute, scoring his third goal of the season off an assist from Jack Cardwell. The Griffins managed five total shots, three of which were on frame, while holding strong defensively against 12 shots from the Roadrunners.
Goalkeeper Tommy Manwaring anchored the defense with four saves to record the clean sheet, supported by a disciplined back line that limited MSU Denver's best looks. Westminster also tallied six corner kicks and matched the Roadrunners with 12 fouls in a physical, hard-fought contest.
The Griffins continue their road trip on Sunday with a key RMAC matchup at Colorado Christian, before returning home to Dumke Field on November 5th for the regular-season finale against Colorado Mesa.
