SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster volleyball went the distance on Tuesday night inside Behnken Field House but came up just short in a 3–2 loss to Fort Lewis (25–20, 19–25, 25–18, 15–25, 15–9).
The Griffins finished with 58 kills on a .160 hitting percentage, led by Apline White's 14 kills and Sadie Parrish's 11. Hailey Killett added 8 kills while hitting .316, and Mailei Myers followed with 7 kills and 3 blocks.
Leila Cornejo dished out 24 assists, and Josie Gerritsen added 15, combining for Westminster's 50 team assists. Breegan Huntsman led the serving line with 3 aces, while the team totaled 8 overall.
Defensively, Ava Livolsi anchored the back row with 15 digs, followed by Huntsman with 11, and Cornejo and Myers with 10 apiece. Westminster also recorded 6 total blocks on the night.
With the result, Westminster moved to 9-6 overall and 2-3 in RMAC play. The Griffins will return to action Saturday night at Western Colorado.
