The Westminster men's soccer team (7-5-2, 3-2-2 RMAC) dropped a hard-fought 1–0 loss to Regis (5-5-4, 3-2-2 RMAC) on Saturday afternoon at Dumke Field, as the Griffins continue their push toward RMAC postseason qualification.
Both sides battled through a tightly contested match, with neither team finding a breakthrough until the closing minutes. Westminster produced 7 total shots and 1 on goal, while Regis tallied 9 shots, including 5 on target. The Rangers ultimately broke the deadlock in the 85:50 minute when Johan Murillo scored off an assist from Rayhan Carlson-Du Toit.
Goalkeeper Oliver Olsen anchored the Griffins' back line with 4 saves in 90 minutes of play, keeping Westminster in contention throughout. The Griffins earned 6 corner kicks to Regis' 3, but couldn't capitalize on their late attacking opportunities.
With three matches remaining in the regular season, Westminster will look to strengthen its playoff position with two upcoming road contests before returning home on November 5th to host Colorado Mesa in the regular-season finale.
