SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster volleyball battled through five sets on Friday night inside Behnken Field House but came up just short in a 3–2 loss to CSU Pueblo (25–19, 23–25, 25–22, 21–25, 15–8).
The Griffins finished with 59 kills on .201 hitting, led by Sadie Parrish's 19 kills. Breegan Huntsman added 12, while Alie Sparrow chipped in 9. Mailei Myers and Hailey Killett each recorded 4 blocks, combining to anchor Westminster's net defense.
Josie Gerritsen tallied 25 assists and Leila Cornejo added 20, helping guide the Griffins to 54 total assists as a team. Ava Livolsi led the defense with 18 digs, while Mary Fonoimoana and Huntsman contributed 10 and 9, respectively. Fonoiomona also paced the serving effort with 1 ace, joined by Gerritsen and Myers, who each added one.
With the result, Westminster moved to 10-7 overall and 3-4 in RMAC play. The Griffins will return to Behnken Field House on Saturday night to host Colorado Christian.
