Griffins Add Two All Americans at NCAA Skiing Championship

Steamboat Springs, Colorado - The Westminster Griffins Men's and Women's Alpine Ski teams took their talents to slopes at the 71st Annual NCAA Ski Championships held in Steamboat Springs. 

In the team standings, the Griffins secured a respectable ninth place overall finish with Evelina Fredricsson and Jeremie Lagier  earning first-team All-American honors in the Giant Slalom and Slalom respectively.

Evelina Fredricsson, posted Giant Slalom times of 1:00.69 and 55.17 for a combined time of 1:55.86 to place fourth overall. Her outstanding performance earned her first-team All-American honors contributing to the team's success. On the men's side, Jeremie Lagier  showcased his talent and determination in the Men's Slalom race posting times of 37.52 and 42.64 for a combined time of 1:20.16 to place fifth overall, and earning him first-team All-American honors.

Westminster men's and women's alpine skiing teams concluded the 2024 season with two top-ten all-american finishes at the NCAA Skiing Championship. Westminster finished with 136 team points in both the Men's and Women's Giant Slalom and Slalom races, 66 for the women and 70 for the men, which was good for 9th place overall (alpine and nordic scores combined, WU does not compete in Nordic), and 8th place among the Alpine Point Leaders just behind Dartmouth.
