Griffins Claw Grizzlies At Home

Salt Lake City, UT - In a showdown with weather conditions of snow, rain and wet turf, the Westminster Griffins Lacrosse team emerged victorious against the Adams State Grizzlies with a commanding 20-6 win on a chilly March night at Dumke Field.

From the onset, the stage was set for an intense battle as rain and snow fell on the field before the first face-off. Despite falling behind 2-0 early in the game, the Griffins quickly found their offensive rhythm and surged ahead with relentless determination.

Tate Craig and Daxton Jensen led the charge for Westminster, each contributing four goals to the team's resounding victory. Joseph Celentano showcased his scoring prowess with a hat-trick, while Merritt McMahon added two goals of his own. Sean Gragnola also made his presence felt on the scoreboard with two goals, supported by contributions from five other Griffins who found the back of the net.

The turning point came in the second quarter, where Westminster's offense exploded, outscoring the Grizzlies 7-0 to seize control of the game. With precise passing and clinical finishing, the Griffins showcased their offensive firepower while shutting out their opponents to establish a commanding lead.

Defensively, the Griffins remained steadfast, with goalkeeper Christain Jones putting on a stellar performance in the first half, denying the Grizzlies any opportunity to mount a comeback.

With the victory secured, Westminster now turns its attention to their upcoming clash against the Thunderwolves. As they prepare to defend their home turf once again, the Griffins will look to carry the momentum from their dominant performance and continue their winning streak.

Fans can catch all the action as the Griffins take on the Thunderwolves at Dumke Field on Saturday, with the game set to kick off at 1:00 PM.
