St. Augustine, Fla. - The Westminster Griffins faced a challenging back-to-back schedule against tough opponents, traveling from Daytona Beach, FL to St. Augustine, Fla. for their matchup against the 10th-ranked Flagler College on Sunday morning.
The Griffins found themselves trailing early in the game, with Flagler College taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the first quarter. However, Westminster showed resilience as Madi Rogers netted the first goal for the team, providing a spark of momentum. Rogers continued her scoring prowess by adding another goal early in the second quarter, narrowing the deficit for the Griffins.
Despite Westminster's efforts, Flagler College went on a scoring spree, notching six consecutive goals to extend their lead. The Griffins fought hard, but ultimately fell short, with Flagler College securing a 17-7 victory.
In addition to Rogers' goal performance, notable contributions came from Hannah Kelleher, Shaina Shoughro, and Annabelle Kugler, who all added to the team's scoring efforts.
