The Griffins fought hard throughout the game, trailing 33-37 at halftime but rallying with a strong second-half performance, scoring 43 points. Rylan O'Brien contributed significantly with 18 points, including three successful three-point shots. Notably, the Griffins dominated the paint, outscoring the Mountain Lions 42-24, but UCCS capitalized on outside shooting, hitting two more three-pointers to secure the victory.
