Griffins capture the win in the final seconds

Denver, CO - In a thrilling final seconds of play, the Westminster Men's Basketball team seized a dramatic victory against Regis as Tommy Ball sunk a three-pointer with just 16 seconds left on the clock, propelling the Griffins to a one-point lead. The tension mounted as the final seconds ticked away, with Regis' Ty Cox attempting a potential game-winner, only for his shot to miss, allowing Trey Wood to secure the rebound and seal the victory for Westminster on the road in Denver.

Despite trailing at halftime, the Griffins rallied in the second half, showcasing their resilience and determination to clinch a crucial conference win in the RMAC. Wood delivered a standout performance, tallying 26 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks, while Drake Middleton contributed 13 points and Cole Kadoguchi added 12 of his own.

Westminster's success was underscored by their sharp shooting, with the team sinking 10 three-pointers, including the decisive game-winner, and boasting a 43% shooting accuracy from the field.

With this hard-fought victory under their belts, the Griffins now turn their focus to their next challenge, as they return to Salt Lake City to prepare for their upcoming matchup against MSU-Denver on Feb. 16.
