Despite a strong first half effort from the Griffins, where they kept pace with Colorado Mesa and trailed by only six points, the momentum shifted in the third quarter. The Mavericks dominated the third period, outscoring the Griffins 20-5 and ultimately securing a 77-55 conference victory.

Elizabeth Means emerged as the standout performer for the Griffins, leading the team with an impressive 18 points and contributing seven rebounds to the effort. However, the Griffins couldn't match the Mavericks' surge in the pivotal third quarter.
