Westminster Women's Basketball's Senior Night

Salt Lake City, UT - The Westminster Griffins Women's Basketball team concluded their regular season on Thursday night with a heartfelt Senior Night ceremony, honoring three remarkable players who have left an indelible mark on the program. Despite their efforts, the Griffins fell to Western Colorado in a hard-fought contest, with the visitors securing a 72-60 victory after a strong fourth quarter.

In her final game as a Griffin, senior Elizabeth Means delivered an outstanding performance, leading the team with 24 points and 10 rebounds to secure a memorable double-double. Her remarkable career highlights include scoring over 626 points and grabbing 381 rebounds, with standout moments such as her 21-point game against Azusa Pacific and a notable defensive effort with 4 blocks against Black Hills State. A true leader on and off the court, Means served as a captain, demonstrating resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

Senior Jaycee Lichtie,  showcased her unwavering dedication throughout her time at Westminster. Hailing from South Jordan, UT, Lichtie made significant contributions to the team, amassing over 300 points and 192 rebounds in her Westminster career. Majoring in Nursing, she juggled the demands of academics and athletics with grace and determination, embodying the spirit of perseverance and commitment.

Senior Emily Malouf, the third senior honored, brought her infectious energy and positivity to the court each time she played. Accompanied by her family, Malouf's journey from Cottonwood Heights, UT, to Westminster was marked by resilience and adaptability. Initially committed to track, she seized the opportunity to extend her athletic prowess to basketball, leaving an impact with her tenacity and team-first mentality. Her achievements include breaking the school shot put record, a testament to her dedication and hard work.

As these seniors bid farewell to their collegiate basketball careers, their legacy will endure through the indomitable spirit and perseverance they have instilled in the Westminster Griffins Women's Basketball program.
