Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Griffins defeated by MSU-Denver

Salt Lake City, UT - In a challenging RMAC showdown on Friday night, the Westminster Griffins Men's Basketball team faced a formidable opponent in the MSU-Denver Roadrunners. Despite a strong effort from Drake Middleton, who led the Griffins in scoring with 16 points, the team ultimately fell short, succumbing to a 92-72 defeat.

Brayden Maldonada showcased an impressive performance for MSU-Denver, claiming the title of top scorer with a stellar showing. The Roadrunners wasted no time establishing their dominance, sprinting to an early lead and maintaining their momentum throughout the contest. By halftime, MSU-Denver had built a commanding 44-31 advantage.

Although the Griffins mounted a spirited comeback effort in the second half, narrowing the deficit to single digits at one point, MSU-Denver's relentless play proved too much to overcome. Despite hitting 12 three-point shots on the night, including four from Cole Kadoguchi, and solid contributions from Trey Wood, who added 11 points and four rebounds, the Griffins were unable to close the gap.

Looking ahead, the Griffins will shift their focus to their upcoming matchup against Colorado State University Pueblo. Scheduled for a tip-off at 7:30 PM on Feb. 23, this game marks the culmination of their final road trip of the season.
