Denver, CO – The Westminster Griffins Women's Basketball team kicked off their first conference road trip of the season in thrilling fashion, defeating Metropolitan State University of Denver 54-51. The game came down to the wire as the Roadrunners missed a game-tying three-pointer in the final moments, and a crucial rebound by the Griffins secured the victory.

Teuila Nawahine led Westminster with 15 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Maunayia Harrigfeld was a force on the boards, grabbing 14 rebounds while adding nine points. Maia Rhay contributed nine points, five rebounds, and two steals to the effort.

The Roadrunners were led by Mikylah Espinosa, who had an outstanding game with a game-high 21 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Nevaeh Millard was the second-leading scorer with eight points. MSU Denver had the early lead after the first quarter, but a strong third quarter by the Griffins allowed them to take control of the game.

Key stats included Westminster's dominance on the defensive glass with 37 defensive rebounds compared to MSU Denver's 28. The game featured four ties and two lead changes, showcasing its back-and-forth nature.
