Golden, CO – The Westminster Women's Basketball team faced a tough challenge on Monday afternoon as they took on the Colorado School of Mines. Despite staying within five points after the first quarter, a dominant second quarter and consistent scoring from the Orediggers in the second half led to an 83-40 defeat for the Griffins.
The Orediggers capitalized on second-chance opportunities and controlled the paint throughout the game, scoring 48 points inside and tallying 13 second-chance points. Colorado School of Mines was led by Emma Sixta, who finished with a game-high 20 points and five assists, and Josephine Howery, who added 13 points of her own.
For Westminster, Maunayia Harrigfeld led the effort with nine points and 11 rebounds. Teuila Nawahine contributed six points, while Mia AuClaire and Za'kkria Robinson added six and four points, respectively.
