Salt Lake City, UT - The Westminster Griffins Women's Basketball team faced off against Texas A&M-Kingsville for the second straight day, but this time it was all Javelinas as they pulled away with a 71-47 victory on Saturday afternoon. After a close first quarter with Westminster trailing by only three, Texas A&M-Kingsville surged ahead with a dominant 25-8 second quarter, establishing a lead they never relinquished.
Maunayia Harrigfeld led the Griffins with 11 points, adding two steals and a block. Kayla Javillo contributed nine points and three assists in the effort.
The Griffins will continue their homestand next weekend, hosting three teams, starting with St. Edward's University at 1:00 PM on Friday. Fans can purchase tickets in advance at WestminsterGriffins.com.
