Salt Lake City, UT — The Westminster Griffins kicked off a two-day event inside the Behnken Field House with a hard-fought contest against St. Edward's University on Friday afternoon, narrowly falling 70-78.
Four Griffins delivered double-digit scoring performances, led by Nisa Ellis and Abby Conlee, who each contributed 15 points. Tueila Nawahine came off the bench to provide a spark with 14 points, while Maunayia Harrigfeld added 10 to round out the balanced attack.
Westminster capitalized on defensive opportunities, scoring 19 points off turnovers to keep the game tight throughout. Despite their efforts, St. Edward's managed to hold on for the victory.
The Griffins will return to the court tomorrow to take on Fort Lewis College, with tip-off set for 3:00 PM. Fans can purchase tickets in advance and stream the game live on the RMAC Network.
