Denver, CO – The Westminster Griffins Volleyball team opened their weekend road trip with a tough five-set loss against Regis University. The Griffins captured the first set 26-24 but dropped the next two. They fought back with a 25-21 win in the fourth set to even the match, but despite a late rally, Westminster fell 15-9 in the decisive fifth set.
Claire Cook led the team with 18 kills, followed closely by Breegan Huntsman with 17. Emma Reardon added 8 kills and 4 service aces. On defense, Hailey Killett had a game-high 4 blocks, while Josie Gerritsen dished out 24 assists and contributed 13 digs. Leila Cornejo added 22 assists of her own.
